What is Computer Aided Translation?
A CAT tool is a software program that creates a work environment that is more
compatible with the functions specific to translation and DTP activities and
helps translators (without, of course, substituting for them and their
professionalism) by offering numerous benefits:
-
consistency of terminology: the system allows a specific terminology
database to be produced and updated. Approved terms are automatically
highlighted and accompanied by the corresponding translation within a
specific window. It can also be used by a team of translators who are
working simultaneously on the same document, thereby helping to maintain
perfect consistency of terminology.
-
maintaining of original formatting: a special interface
in the program "hides" the formatting and style codes used
by the DTP program that generated the document and separates images.
-
Is preparing a glossary important?
A glossary is an essential tool that guarantees the quality of the
translation service as well as consistency with the terminology used by
the Client. A glossary can be prepared using:
- specific dictionaries relating to specific equipment or systems
- documentation supplied directly by the Client
- various reference materials and certificates
Each glossary is subject to approval and corrections and comments
may be added by the Client. For large projects, the glossary is
produced using Computer Aided Translation.
-
Do you accept small jobs, including those smaller than one page?
Yes, we do accept small jobs.
-
How can I request a personalised quote?
Quotes may be requested verbally, in writing or by using the online form.
The services provided by Eureco S.r.l. are formalised on a purchase order
issued by the project manager. Where various services are involved, a detailed
description of these is given. Upon receiving the order, the Eureco S.r.l.
project manager draws up the job sheet, identified by a unique reference number
for each project. This number is notified to the Client at the time of delivery
of the service and included on the invoice.
-
What criteria do you use to select your collaborators?
Eureco S.r.l. only uses native speaker translators with subject specialisation.
They are constantly evaluated on the basis of the feedback that we receive. We
can therefore guarantee our clients that the work will be carried out by the most
suitable translation team for the product, company and activity in question. New
translators and interpreters are monitored directly by our Quality Managers for
a period of at least 1 year.
-
What is the difference between translation and localisation?
The translation process is more than simply the conversion of terminology from one
language to another. Each text conveys a message to be transposed in its entirety into
another language according to the informative and cultural context. This concept is closely
connected to that of localisation, which means the process of adapting a product or service
to the circumstances and conventions specific to the country or place of use without
altering the meaning and integrity of the code and message conveyed.
-
Can you also download websites for translation/localisation?
We can download and translate/localise all web formats thanks to TagEditor, which is the
industry-recognised standard for Web and DTP formats with tags. HTML, ASP, JSP, SGML,
XML and XSL documents can be opened directly with TagEditor, thanks to its advanced
conversion mechanisms. Alternatively, the text of the website to be translated can be
extracted as an Office file and translated directly with the corresponding program.
-
How should the material for translation be sent?
The material for translation can be sent to us as an attachment to a message
sent to our email address, or via FTP, fax or express courier.
-
What do you do with the personal data that you gather
via the contact forms on your website?

media and processed confidentially by Eureco S.r.l. for uses which
are connected or instrumental to the company's activity. Pursuant to Art.
13 of Italian Law 675/96, data subjects have the right to access
